With over 50 years of combined multifamily experience in diverse areas of the industry including brokerage, consulting, acquisitions, property & asset management, equity sourcing & debt financing, market research, valuation and land development, our gifted team of specialists offers a unique package of in-depth knowledge and on-the-ground experience for our clients. Our senior brokers, with the support of all team members, are all proactively involved in each stage of the disposition process including disposition proposals, marketing & property tours, purchaser selection & vetting, contract negotiations, due diligence and closing. By actively sustaining the momentum and minimizing/managing any possible buyer objections throughout the transaction, our team has established its reputation for achieving successful closings in very short time frames.

Jamie B. May

Jamie has over 20 year’s experience specializing in institutional multifamily property sales and is the founding member, Chairman and CEO of JBM®. Jamie oversees the operations, origination, capital markets, marketing and disposition of all institutional grade brokerage assignments, as well as all capitalization activities of the firm.

Prior to JBM®, Jamie was an Executive Director of Institutional Property Advisors as well as the Chairman and CEO of JBM® Realty Advisors. His experience draws upon three generations of the May family development, brokerage and insurance business dating back to 1939 in addition to his own prior experience in the investment advisory, brokerage, construction, development, acquisition, disposition, capital markets and management of institutional grade apartment communities.

Jamie currently serves on the Board of Directors of the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC), a Silver Flight multifamily council member of the national Urban Land Institute (ULI),founding member of the Multi-family Development Council of ULI Florida, is an active member of the the Real Estate Investment Council (REIC) and belongs to the National Apartment Association and the Florida Apartment Association.

Jamie is a graduate of Boston University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Real Estate. Additionally, he is a licensed real estate broker in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee and New Mexico. His interests include spending time with family and friends, Ferrari road course racing, fitness training, swimming, boating, shooting, favorite holiday destinations include Aspen and Nantucket.


Eddie Yang

Eddie Yang is President and Co-Founder of JBM®. His direct responsibilities include client advisory, business development, property analysis & financial underwriting, market surveillance, marketing and disposition execution of institutional grade market rate, tax credit and tax exempt bond financed properties.

Prior to joining the JBM® team, Eddie was with CBRE – Florida Multihousing Group and specialized in valuation and disposition of institutional multi-housing properties, fractured and stalled garden and mid/high rise condominium properties, and loan sales of over 7,000 units with an aggregate value of over $635 million. In addition, he was a member of the Debt and Equity Finance Group where he underwrote properties for debt financing according to Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae standards.

Before entering the brokerage and advisory industry, Eddie was involved in acquisitions and development of various asset types including multifamily. He also previously worked at JP Morgan in New York as an investment banking analyst and advisor.

Eddie is an advisory member of the National Multi-Housing Council (NMHC), Urban Land Institute, and the Real Estate Investment Council. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration with concentrations in Accounting and Finance from Goizueta Business School at Emory University and is a Licensed Real Estate Salesperson in the state of Florida.  His interests include public speaking, tennis, golf, white water rafting, rock climbing, tarpon fishing, snow biking and snowboarding off-marker.


Jonathan Barclay

Jonathan Barclay is a Director of Transactions for JBM®. He is responsible for the team’s valuation and strategic financial underwriting and modeling; marketing, creation, production and distribution of property offering memoranda; photography; market research; and the quarterly distribution of the BrokerEdge newsletter. Mr. Barclay also serves as a liaison within the brokerage team, and with prospective purchasers and sellers by conducting property orientations, registration, onsite tours, and coordination of due diligence throughout the listing, marketing and closing of each transaction. 

Prior to joining the JBM® Group, Mr. Barclay was an analyst with Jones Lang LaSalle’s – Florida Capital Markets Group in Orlando; where he was responsible for research, marketing, economic and demographic analysis as well as the creation and distribution of offering memoranda for institutional, private national and regional clientele. 

Mr. Barclay has worked in the commercial real estate industry for multiple years and has experience in the marketing and sale of office and retail properties in addition to multifamily. During his career, he has assisted in the disposition and financing of more than $1.6 billion in commercial real estate assets. 

Mr. Barclay earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from Florida State University and is a Licensed Real Estate Salesperson in the state of Florida. His interests include public speaking, politics, FSU sports and fishing.


Nathan Van Steenbergen

Nathan Van Steenbergen, MAI, is the Director of Valuation and Advisory Services for JBM®. His direct responsibilities include sourcing asset dispositions, financial analysis, underwriting of existing large apartment investments, new apartment construction projects, land development, and fractured condominiums. In addition, responsibilities include developing Broker Opinion of Value (BOV) proposals, tracking development pipelines, construction, operational trends and disposition activity. Other responsibilities include transaction management coordinating between buyer and seller throughout the due diligence, closing and post-closing periods.

Prior to joining the JBM®, Mr. Van Steenbergen held the position of Vice President with CBRE’s Valuation & Advisory Services Group in Tampa, where he focused on appraisals, consultations, research and analysis on a variety of multifamily housing property types located throughout Florida. He was also a member of CBRE’s Multifamily Housing Specialty Group.

During his tenure, Nathan provided appraisal and consulting assignments for regional and national mortgage bankers, mortgage brokers, wholesale lenders, and portfolio lenders, and completed hundreds of appraisal assignments, which amounted to millions of dollars in revenue and billions of dollars in asset values.

Mr. Van Steenbergen earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Florida State University and earned a Master of Science degree in Applied Economics from the University of Florida. In addition, he has a Certified General Appraiser License in the state of Florida, and holds the MAI (Member of the Appraisal Institute) designation. His interests include spending time with his wife and two young sons, cooking, soccer, Tampa Bay and FSU related sports, and fishing.


Claudia Raines

Claudia Raines is the Director of Client Services for JBM®. Her direct responsibilities include planning, creating and executing advertising and marketing campaigns, public relations and strategic planning. Defining and deploying internal and external support by implementing strategies to deliver effective, efficient and consultative support and project management that aligns to our clients business goals and objectives. Additional responsibilities include providing leadership of team success management, collaboration, structure and operation of the JBM team by provisioning all decision making by the Chairman and CEO. Serves as a liaison between the JBM team, IT, suppliers, principals and investor clientele. This role intuitively links to overall execution of investor transaction management, client services, analysis, research, due diligence and documentation.

Prior to joining JBM®, Ms. Raines was the Executive Coordinator to the former Governor of Florida, Charlie Crist at Morgan and Morgan, P.A and supported Mr. Crist with all case acquisition, conducting extensive research and analysis on case acquisitions and pro actively identified prospective clients’ legal needs. Acted as a liaison to prospective clients, public and private organizations, and media outlets. Assisted the former Governor with public relations within the Morgan and Morgan law firm.

Ms. Raines also has a background in property management operations in the multi-family sector and has worked with national multifamily property management companies in Arizona.

Ms. Raines earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with concentrations in finance and management from the University of South Florida and is a Licensed Real Estate Salesperson in the State of Florida. Her interests include cycling, hiking, dancing, and spending time with family and friends.


Joseph Hobbs

Joseph Hobbs is an Associate at JBM®. His direct responsibilities include assisting in new business development/sourcing asset dispositions, database management, conducting high level local and regional market analyses, and providing research required while creating proposals and offering materials. He is also responsible for supporting team members in complex financial underwriting, as well as monitoring and reporting on current market trends and transactions. Additional responsibilities include providing both high-quality photography and photo editing in the creation of OMs and BOVs. This role intuitively links to the successful execution of analysis, research, due diligence and document production.

Mr. Hobbs is a recent graduate from Florida State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Information, Communication and Technology. During his time at Florida State University he developed his knowledge of information technology and digital graphics. Using the skills he learned in school, he created a successful clothing brand that focused on BMX and other action sports. His creation and operation of the clothing company helped Joseph further sharpen his business, management and communication skills with clients around the world, and his education and business experience make him a vital member of the JBM team. Joseph is also a professional BMX rider and travels the world competing in different BMX contests and events.


Horatio W. Jones, IV

Horatio Jones is a Director for Wells Fargo Multifamily Capital, which specializes in government sponsored enterprise (GSE) financing executions offered by Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, the Federal Housing Administration (FHA), and direct balance sheet lending programs offered by Wells Fargo Bank, NA.

Mr. Jones is responsible for GSE and balance sheet loan origination, client relationship management, negotiating deal specific considerations with the agencies, and working with other lines of business within Wells Fargo to meet the financial services needs of his clients.

Prior to his current role, he served as a Vice President and Relationship Manager in Wells Fargo’s Commercial Real Estate Group. Horatio started his finance career in 2002 with Wachovia Bank, a Wells Fargo predecessor, as an analyst in the Corporate Development / Mergers and Acquisitions group. He also spent time as an analyst within both the Retail Bank and the Corporate Planning and Analysis Division and he was a Business Banking Associate Relationship Manager.

Horatio’s past and current professional affiliations include the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC), the Urban Land Institute (ULI), the National Association for Industrial & Office Parks (NAIOP), and the Wells Fargo CRE Development and Engagement Council (DEC).

Horatio has a B.A. in business administration from Winston Salem State University and he received his M.B.A. from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
